Balmoral, September 2022

Just a short post here...

On 14th September, I had to go to Aberdeen for work and decided to return home via Balmoral, to take a look at the floral tributes that had been left for the late Queen.

It was a fairly dreary day, but what a cheery display of flowers, toys, balloons and pictures to celebrate Elizabeth II's life.

Getting there: Leave Aberdeen on the B9077, following signs for Peterculter and Banchory. From Banchory, follow the A93, heading for the Pass of Ballater. As you reach Crathie, the kirk is on the right and there is a car park on the left, just before the bridge to the estate.

Nearest facilities: When the estate is open, there's a tea room in the grounds. Otherwise, there's the Tarmachan Cafe just on the right before you round the bend into Crathie.
